Our Team
Meet the people and hearts behind the Canmore Hospital Foundation. We may be small in size, but our dedication to enhancing healthcare in Canmore and its surrounding areas knows no bounds.
Led by our dynamic Executive Director, who epitomizes passion and vision, we are a not-for-profit organization on a mission to transform lives. Collaborating with a diverse array of talented contractors, dedicated volunteers, and visionary committee members, we tirelessly pursue our goal of elevating healthcare in our community. At the core of our operations stands our esteemed Board of Directors, an assembly of exceptional individuals handpicked for their diverse backgrounds, wealth of experience, and unwavering commitment to our cause. Together, we are a force to be reckoned with, united in our pursuit of a healthier, brighter future for our community.
We work closely and collaborate constantly with hospital staff and leadership to ensure that all our efforts align seamlessly with the priorities and needs of our local healthcare professionals. This ensures that our initiatives are not only impactful but also directly address the concerns and aspirations of hospital staff, patients, families, residents, and our community at large.
Renée Krysko, Executive Director
Renée is passionate about people, community, and connection — values that align seamlessly with the Canmore Hospital Foundation’s mission of building a healthier community, together. As Executive Director, she brings her vision, vibrance, and leadership to strengthen local healthcare, deepen community engagement, and inspire generosity across the Bow Valley.
Before joining the Foundation, Renée spent 15 years with the Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative (Y2Y), advancing from Communications Manager to Director of Donor Relations. There, she built lasting partnerships, inspired giving through storytelling, and united people around a shared commitment to thriving ecosystems — lessons she now applies to nurturing a healthy, connected community.
Earlier in her career, Renée spent nearly a decade designing and leading cycling tours through France, the Canadian Rockies, and across Europe. Her goal then was the same as it is now: to create meaningful experiences that connect people to place, purpose, and one another.
Born and raised in Alberta, Renée finds balance and inspiration in the mountains she calls home. Whether skiing, dancing, or cycling, she is constantly reminded of the importance of well-being — for ourselves, our community, and our shared future. Together, she looks forward to helping the Canmore Hospital Foundation grow and keep us all Healthy Together.

The Canmore Hospital Ladies’ Auxiliary
For over 45 years, the Canmore Hospital Ladies' Auxiliary (CHLA) has demonstrated unwavering community support for healthcare in the Bow Valley.
Comprising hundreds of passionate volunteers, the CHLA brings dedication and selflessness in service to their community. From its humble beginnings nearly five decades ago, the CHLA has grown into a powerhouse of volunteerism, with members donating their time and talents to enhance healthcare facilities and services in the region. The merger with the Canmore Hospital Foundation in 2017 marked a significant milestone, providing the auxiliary with stability and support to continue its vital work.
These remarkable individuals organize and participate in a myriad of fundraising events, including fashion shows, barbecues, and raffles, to raise essential funds for the hospital. Their tireless efforts have resulted in the purchase of vital medical equipment and the implementation of programs that directly benefit patients and healthcare professionals. In 2018, the CHLA celebrated its 40th anniversary, a testament to decades of unwavering commitment and service. Their milestone achievement of raising $1 million for the hospital reflects their extraordinary dedication to improving healthcare in the Bow Valley. The CHLA remains an integral part of the community, embodying the spirit of volunteerism and making a profound impact on the lives of those they serve.
