Sisterhood Summit: Together for Women’s Health

On October 30, the Canmore Hospital Foundation hosted the inaugural Sisterhood Summit: Embracing Women’s Health, presented by Level III NDT Inc.

More than 130 guests gathered in celebration, connection, and purpose - raising over $50,000 to bring advanced medical equipment and compassionate care to women and families in our region.

The event also marked the launch of the Women’s Health Circle, a growing community of donors dedicated to ensuring access to exceptional care close to home and closing the women’s health gap across the Bow Valley.

The room was filled with warmth, laughter, and inspiration — but it was also the beginning of something bigger: a movement uniting our community in support of women and families.

The afternoon featured powerful talks from Dr. Chelsey Topping, Dr. Tracie Risling, and MC Heidi Widmer, each highlighting the urgent need to advance women’s health and expand access to modern, compassionate care close to home.

Powered by Generosity

This milestone event was made possible through the incredible generosity of sponsors, donors, and volunteers who rallied behind a shared purpose.

A heartfelt thank-you to our presenting sponsor, Level III NDT Inc., for leading the way in advancing women’s health in our community.

We’re also deeply grateful to the many local businesses, silent auction donors, and volunteers who helped make this inaugural event such a success.

Advancing Women’s Health in the Bow Valley

Funds raised from the Sisterhood Summit will help bring essential medical equipment and technology to the Bow Valley, ensuring women and families have access to modern, compassionate care close to home. These priorities include:

Equipment Estimated Cost Impect
Specialty Operating Room Table $60,000 Improves positioning and comfort for surgical procedures.
Laparoscopic Surgery Tower $135,000 Enhances minimally invasive gynecological surgeries with precision imaging.
Birthing Beds $32,000 each Provides comfort, mobility, and safety for mothers in labour and recovery.
Fluvent Pro Fluid Management System $65,000 Supports surgical teams with advanced fluid control, improving safety and outcomes.

While the total cost of these equipment priorities exceeds what was raised at this inaugural event, the generosity and enthusiasm of attendees have created powerful momentum. Together, we’ve taken the first major step toward bringing these vital technologies to the Bow Valley, and we’ll continue building on this success through the newly launched Women’s Health Circle.

Introducing the Women’s Health Circle

If you haven’t yet joined the Circle, there’s still time. Your gift today will directly support the equipment and programs that are making a lasting difference for women and families close to home.

Join the Women’s Health Circle or make a one-time donation in support of women’s health.

A Lasting Impact

The Sisterhood Summit was more than a fundraiser — it was a movement of compassion and connection. It showed what’s possible when our community comes together to champion the health and well-being of women and families across the Bow Valley.

To everyone who attended, volunteered, sponsored, donated, or helped spread the word — thank you for making the first Sisterhood Summit an unforgettable success.

Together, we’re closing the women’s health gap and ensuring that every woman in the Bow Valley receives the care she deserves.

With heartfelt gratitude,
The Canmore Hospital Foundation
