Christmas came early this spring, complete with an unseasonal dump of snow that Bow Valley residents have come to expect.
Alongside the surprise snowfall, Canmore General Hospital also received several new pieces of equipment and training opportunities made possible through your immense generosity. Between April and May, the Canmore Hospital Foundation invested in new technology, women's health equipment, emergency response training tools, and staff education that will help improve care for patients throughout our region.
Here are a few highlights, along with messages from the healthcare teams who use this equipment every day and see firsthand the impact your support makes possible.
Women's Health
Omni Scope
A specialized camera system that allows physicians to diagnose and treat a wide range of gynecological conditions through less invasive procedures.
Fluvent Pro Fluid Management System
Used alongside the Omni Scope, this equipment improves visualization, enhances patient safety, and supports more accurate diagnoses during procedures.
Birthing Beds
New birthing beds improve comfort, mobility, and safety for mothers while supporting clinical teams during labour, delivery, and emergency situations.
Training & Emergency Response
ALARM (Advanced Labour and Risk Management) Training
Twenty-five healthcare professionals participated in this advanced obstetrical training program in May, strengthening emergency response skills and enhancing care for families across the Bow Valley.
CPR Training Simulator
This hands-on training equipment helps physicians, nurses, and clinical teams practice lifesaving techniques and emergency interventions before responding to real-world emergencies.
Featured Investment: Laparoscopic Surgery Tower
One of the largest recent investments was a new laparoscopic surgery tower, which supports minimally invasive abdominal and pelvic procedures. The advanced imaging system allows surgeons to operate with greater precision while helping reduce recovery times, minimize complications, and improve patient outcomes. The addition of a second tower will also increase surgical capacity, helping more patients receive care sooner.

Featured Investment: Portable Digital X-Ray Unit
A new digital portable X-ray unit is helping bring diagnostic imaging directly to patients when and where they need it most. For patients who are critically ill, recovering from surgery, experiencing mobility challenges, or requiring urgent assessment, bedside imaging improves comfort, safety, and efficiency while supporting faster clinical decision-making.
